The Journal publishes texts in English and Portuguese. Conditions for publication: Only works produced by at least one PhD author will be accepted. Master's candidates, Masters and doctoral candidates may submit works as long as these are made in co-authorship with a PhD researcher.
The Editorial Board understands that the student's supervision should be made explicit, but should not be taken as a co-authorship. Articles derived from MA or PhD research studies should include the supervisor's name in a footnote, and not as a co-author - respecting the first condition. Concerning the author's title, an exception is made to book reviews, which can also be produced by PhD students.
Peer Review Process Unpublished articles, reviews and interview submitted to this journal will be forwarded to the chief-editor and invited editor to a preliminary analysis, which shall consider the general editorial line and theme of the edition. If the evaluation disagree, the article, review or interview will be send to a third referee.

It is not possible to reach the island by car. There are also organized boat trips to Culatra Island, but they are more expensive. It is better to take the ferry. You can decide for yourself if you want to take the ferry to the village of Culatra or the village of Farol both are situated on Culatra Island. You can buy the tickets for the ferry at the docking station. You can also find the timetable of the ferry here. Make sure to check when the last ferry leaves Culatra. During the journey itself you will be able to see the natural park of Ria Formosa.
The ferry ride is very relaxing. Chances are you will see different kinds of birds during the journey, including flamingos. When you arrive in Culatra, you will have to walk quite a bit to get to the beach. The walk is around 20 minutes. This can be hard if you are travelling with small kids.

You will find several seafood restaurants and a supermarket here. After the village you will have to follow a long boardwalk to get to the beach. When you arrive in Farol, the walk to the beach is only 5 to 10 minutes.
There are several restaurants and cafes on the island. The fish in the seafood restaurants is so fresh, you can sometimes see the fishermen bring the fish straight to the kitchen.
